Our Instructors
“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression…”
“At Prism Jiu Jitsu, Our mission is to help people be more effective in competition, training, and their daily lives through lessons learned on the mat. We strive to create an environment that breeds community, the sharing of knowledge, and a strong team made of strong individuals.”
Nick Angeloni
Nick is Prism's head instructor and leads both the kids and adult programs. He's been training jiu jitsu for 17 years and martial arts for 25, and he's known for the energy he brings to class. He loves helping people get better and cares about every student who walks in, which is why his classes feel friendly and fun even when you're working hard. Nick is a first degree black belt, a 5-1 pro MMA fighter, and a former King of the Cage champion, with podium finishes at the Black Belt IBJJF No-Gi Worlds, Europeans, and Nationals, and he coached the Prism team to a podium at JJWL in their first two years. Outside the gym he's a dad of two and has been married for nine years.
Fernando damian
Fernando is Prism's assistant kids instructor and a homegrown blue belt who came up through the program. He's great at capturing the kids' attention and pushing them past their comfort zone, but he also knows how to make them feel safe while they work hard. He started helping with the kids classes when he first began training, and four years later he's grown into a full coach role, so he understands what new students need at every stage. Fernando is also an accomplished competitor with several JJWL gold medals, which means the kids learn from someone who's still putting in the work himself.
